5 Digital Wellness Practices for the Conscious Technology User

February 28, 2026

In a world of constant digital stimulation, maintaining our inner capacities requires intentional practice. Here are five exercises drawn from spiritual science that can help you engage with technology more consciously.

1. The Morning Technology Fast

Begin each day with at least 30 minutes of screen-free time. Use this period for meditation, journaling, or simply observing the natural world around you.

2. Conscious Screen Transitions

Before picking up a device, pause for three breaths. Set a clear intention for your technology use. When you finish, pause again before moving to the next activity.

3. The Evening Review

Each evening, review your technology use that day. Notice patterns without judgment. Where did technology serve you well? Where did it pull you away from presence?

4. Weekly Digital Sabbath

Choose one day each week to significantly reduce or eliminate screen time. Use this day to engage in activities that nourish your sense life: cooking, walking, crafting, conversing.

5. Mindful Content Consumption

Before consuming any content online, ask: “Does this serve my development?” Practice selective attention rather than passive scrolling.
